Welcome to Malta Jug and Introduction to JMS

This talk will be given in two parts. First, a quick introduction to Java and Open Source; why they matter, why both communities have helped each other grow and how you can learn more. The second part will focus on Java for enterprise computing, describing the challenges involved when building enterprise application. Then the talk will introduce two technologies that are widely used to help solve some of this challenges, JMS (Java Message Service) and Web Services. The rest of the talk will go into more detail about the 'what?' and 'why?' of JMS.
