This used to be the case, but this was removed.

This is required because otherwise the message adaptor used for streaming needs to be hard-coded somewhere.

Talking to Dan D, the need for this seems to be unique to the File transport and doesn't really justify the reintroduction of this property. Leaving open for now for further comment...
